The aim of the service is to match individuals with alternative communication devices and systems, to enable them to speak for themselves.

The Centre is staffed by an inter-disciplinary team who work in conjunction with parents, carers and any professionals involved in supporting an individual with communication difficulties. Assessment of an individual's communication abilities and follow-up support may be carried out at various locations including home, school, day centre and hospital.

The team also provides advice and training in the wide range of alternative communication devices and systems available and resources to view and borrow.
