Healthy Eating
A new pack from the Symbols Inclusion Project.
This pack is based around Design and Technology Unit 1C : Eat More Fruit and Vegetables to develop children's understanding of designing and making with food and the importance of healthy eating. BUT it has lots more information about different fruit, vegetables and healthy eating and can be used throughout the Early Years, Key Stage 1 and 2 and Special Schools.

Road Safety Pack
A pack with 11 activities aimed at teaching how to cross the road safely, understanding traffic lights and pedestrian crossings and general road safety. Activities include worksheets, flashcards and a story.
Train Safety
A pack aimed at teaching the do's and don'ts of being at the train station and the safety aspect of travelling on trains. 10 activities which include worksheets, colouring and a story.
Bodies, Emotions and Relationships
A pack to learn about our bodies, forming relationships and the emotions surrounding them. 13 activities include worksheets, a story and flashcards.

Sound Stories
A new edition to the sound stories packs, Sound Stories S-Z.
This pack has been created for teachers, teaching assistants, and parents to support children with phonological disorders. The pack contains stories, activities, games with flashcards, memory games and auditory discrimination games.

Low Cost Boardmaker Resources
The Foundation Knowledge packs have been made for Boardmaker using the Widgit Literacy Symbols and are now available to download.
The Foundation Knowledge Packs focus on language and particularly on vocabulary. The primary aim is to help children learn basic vocabulary.

Sequencing Activities
A pack of 21 sequencing activities based around Life Skills. These can be cut and mixed up to put them into the right order. A blank template comes with this pack to make your own activities.
Traditional Stories

Choices and Planning Toolkit
Tom Anthony has devised a Choices and Planning Toolkit for people of all ages to enable independent choice.
There are four packs in the toolkit, which include a Menu Selector, Activity Selector, a Shopping Support Pack and a Housework Board.
These are available to download in both Communicate: In Print files and PDF.

Widgit Software and Mayer Johnson working together
Widgit Software, producers of the Widgit Literacy Symbols (WLS), and Mayer-Johnson, producers of the Picture Communication Symbols (PCS), are teaming up in 2007 to bring both companies' products to the literacy learning and communications markets on both sides of the Atlantic.
The two companies have acquired distribution rights for each other's products in their respective territories, enabling Widgit to bring the Boardmaker series to the UK to sell alongside the Communicate series, and Mayer-Johnson to take the Communicate to the USA to sell alongside Boardmaker. The availability of both WLS and PCS symbols with all the software tools will ensure that people with all types of communication difficulties will be able to choose the most suitable textual support.
