Do, Work and Make are used in various contexts. These words are often used to signify an abstract idea of action rather than a person involved. The action element is a curved arrow signifying movement. e. g. ' I will do the washing up.' or 'Does the clock work?' (In the case of this second phrase 'does' is simply a question mark, as the action is in the verb 'work'.) 'Make' as in physical making is represented by a person making something (not defined). The more general or abstract version is shown by putting together two parts of a whole, with a movement to show action. Similarly able and skill are the action 'do' with 'right'.
